They tweeted, they voted, then they tweeted some more.
It’s no secret where B.C.’s film and TV community stood on the upcoming election. Burned by a slowdown as productions choose to film in more tax-friendly jurisdictions such as Ontario or Louisiana, the actors and behind-the-scenes types were told by Christy Clark that there was no room for further tax credits for the industry, while the NDP’s Adrian Dix promised a boost to those credits.
As the polls were about to close, actor-writer Brent Butt (TV’s Corner Gas and Hiccups, the upcoming feature film No Clue) took to Twitter:
But lawn signs, like the polls that preceded Tuesday’s vote, were an inaccurate gauge.
Actor Milo Shandel (TV’s Mr. Young) weighed in as the results came:

(His Corner Gas was filmed in Saskatchewan, a province that has since lost virtually all of its film and TV work after cutting tax incentives.)
